About Aanjangaon

Anjangaon is a city and a common assembling in Amravati zone in the domain of Maharashtra, India. Basically there are twin urban networks, Anjangaon and Surji, on either side of Shahanur River, and are called Anjangaon-Surji in mix. Anjangaon Surji is an outdated town having religious and recorded hugeness. After the Battle of Assaye and the Battle of Argaum, the Treaty of Surji-Anjangaon was set apart on 30 December 1803 at Anjangaon between the British and Daulat Rao Sindhia, leader of the Maratha people. In eighteenth century Vithoji Narayan was allowed the vatandari of Anjangaon. There are records that he was conceded with a title 'Surji'.
