Amarnath Temple is a Hindu shrine located in the Pahalgam tehsil of the Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir, India. The cave, located in Sind Valley, is surrounded by glaciers, snowy mountains and is covered with snow most of the year, except for a short period in the summer, when it is open to pilgrims. The Shiva Lingam at the shrine is a Swayambhu lingam. The lingam is a natural stalagmite formation inside a 40 m (130 ft) tall cave at an elevation of 3,888 m (12,756 ft) on the Amarnath Mountain, which has a peak of 5,186 metres (17,014 ft). The stalagmite is formed due to the freezing of water drops that fall from the roof of the cave onto the floor, resulting in an upward growth of an ice formation. Here, the stalagmites considered as the lingam, a physical manifestation of Shiva, form a solid-dome-shape. Two smaller stalagmites are thought to represent Parvati and Ganesha.

Itinerary
- Departure from Chennai Railway station (MAS) at 05:15 hrs by train no. 16031 Andaman Express. En-route boarding at Vijaywada at 13:30 hrs. (Overnight train journey).
- En-route boarding at Nagpur at 01:40 hrs, Bhopal at 09:05 hrs and New Delhi at 20:55 hrs. (Overnight train journey).
- Arrival at Katra Railway Station (SVDK) at 10:45 hrs, and transfer to Srinagar by road. Hotel Check-in & Overnight stay at Srinagar.
- After early breakfast visit Shankaracharya Temple, Mughal Gardens and by evening Shikara Ride at Dal Lake. Dinner and Overnight stay at Hotel.
- Early Morning Breakfast transfer to Baltal base camp for Amarnath Yatra (Baltal base camp to Amarnath caves trekking approx. 13 KM one way). You can hire pony (own cost ) for Amarnath Yatra.
- After Amarnath ji Darshan return back, meet Baltal base camp then proceed to Srinagar by road. Overnight stay at Srinagar.
- Reserve Day.
- After Breakfast check out Hotel then proceed for Jammu by road, arrival Jammu, check-in hotel evening leisure. Overnight stay Jammu
- Morning after breakfast check out hotel followed by local sightseen En-route dinner and drop to Katra Railway Railway Station to board the Train No. 16032 Andaman Express at 22:25 hrs for return journey. (Overnight Train Journey).
- En-route de-boarding at New Delhi at 13:35 (Overnight train journey)
- En-route de-boarding Bhopal at 02:10 hrs & Nagpur at 09:00 hrs and Vijaywada at at 20:55 hrs. (Overnight train journey)

- Online Helicopter booking & Helicopter Shuttle Charges.
- ( Note: * Those who are booked Helicopter , they have to ensure that the night stay will be at Basecamp only. If anyone wish to travel to Srinagar on same day , they arrange own travel & accommodation for that day.
- ** Any delay due to natural calamity, bad weather, terror issues, or govt. mandate IRCTC won’t be responsible for that.)
- Day 05 & Day 06 Meals not included.
- Any service not mentioned in inclusions.
- Guide charges
- Personal Expenses such as Laundry, telephone calls, tips & gratuity, mineral water, soft & hard drinks, rafting, rock climbing, paragliding, Porterage, Still / Video Camera fees etc.
- Additional sightseeing or extra usage of vehicle, other than mentioned in the itinerary.
- Any cost arising due to natural calamities like, landslides, road blockage, political disturbances (strikes), etc. (to be borne by the client, which is directly payable on the spot).
- Any increase in taxes or fuel price, leading to increase in cost on surface transportation & land arrangements, which may come into effect prior to departure.
- Any additional meals / en route meals, sightseeing and activities other than those mentioned in the itinerary.
- All arrangements made by IRCTC are in the capacity of an agent, we will not be responsible for any kind of emergency such as landslide, strike, curfew, accidents, injuries, delayed or cancelled flights, etc.
- Pony Charges, Helicopter Charges & Palki Charges. It has to be directly borne by the tourist.

FORCE MAJEURE: In these booking conditions, 'force majeure' means any event which IRCTC / the supplier of the service(s) in question / the Third Party Supplier could not, even with all due care, foresee or avoid. Such events may include disruptions/diversions of air services, floods, and earthquakes whether actual or threatened war, riot, civil strife, actual or threatened terrorist activity, industrial dispute, natural or nuclear disaster, adverse weather conditions, disease, fire and all similar events outside the control of the party concerned.
We cannot accept liability or pay any compensation where the performance or prompt performance of our obligations under our agreement with you is prevented or affected by, or you otherwise suffer any damage or loss as a result of, 'force majeure'.
OUR LIABILITY TO YOU: IRCTC will not be responsible for any injury, illness, death, loss, damage, expense, cost or other claim of any description whatsoever which results from:
1.the act(s) and / or omission(s) of the person(s) affected or any member(s) of their party; or
2.the act(s) and / or omission(s) of a third party not connected with the provision of your arrangements and which were unforeseeable or unavoidable; or
3.any service or facility not arranged by us as part of our contract with you; or 'force majeure' as defined above.
We do not accept liability for:
1.Any damage, loss, expense or other sum(s) of any description which based on the information you gave us at the time of booking, we could not have foreseen you would suffer or incur if we breached our contract with you
2.Any business losses.
3. Excursions or other tours or any other travel services taken and paid for by you which have not been provided by us whilst you are on our tour. In such instances, your contract will be with the operator / supplier of the excursion or tour or travel services and not with us.
