Bangalore Tourist Places Near Majestic

Majestic is the famous movie theater in Bangalore which is located near the bus stand and was named the bus stand as Majestic bus stand earlier. Later, it was named as Kempegowda bus stand with respect to the founder of Bangalore, Kempegowda I. It was traditionally still known as Majestic bus stand. Majestic, being in Bangalore is known for many tourist attractions and has many sightseeing places to visit. Let us see the places that are near Majestic to make a visit. 

Falcon Coins Gallery

The Falcon Coins Gallery is 800 m from Majestic and the name itself is indicating it as a gallery of coins that was established in 1975. It is an archaeological survey of old coins in India in which coins of Vijayanagara, Hoysala, Chalukya, Mughal,Mahajanapadas, Satavahanas and many more dynasties are found.            

Entry Timings - 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM; 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM Sundays

Freedom Park 

Freedom Park is located at a distance of 2.2 km from Majestic. Freedom Park used to be the Central Jail and was opened to the public in November 2008. The Freedom Park was inaugurated by the former Union Minister Lal Krishna Advani to get the glimpse of jail life with visuals of hanging spot, barrack, watch tower, a jogging track and a children’s play area.

Entry Timings- 5:00 AM to 8:30 AM and 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM

Tipu Sultan’s Summer Palace, Bangalore

The Tipu Sultan’s Summer Palace is located at a distance of 2.5 Km from Majestic. The Tipu Sultan’s Summer Palace is an ancient building of the Mysore Empire in Bangalore.Tipu used to come to this place for his summer vacation. Hyder Ali started construction work of this building in 1781 and was completed by Tipu Sultan in 1791 and was built entirely of sticks. 

Entry Timings - 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM on weekdays, 
                8:30 AM to 5:30 PM on weekends
Entry Fee - Rs.15 for Indian Visitors and Rs.200 for foreign visitors

National Gallery of Modern Art 

The National Gallery of Modern Art and Falcon Coins Gallery are in Majestic that need to be visited. The National Gallery of Modern Art is 3.4 km from Majestic. It was launched on 18th February, 2009 and contains paintings, sculptures,graphic prints, photographs in earlier periods showcasing the historical development of modern art in India. 

Entry Timings - 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM; Closed on Mondays
Entry Fee - Rs.500 for foreign visitors , 
            Rs.20 for Indian Visitors, 
            Free for students.

Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium

The Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium is at a distance of  3.5 km from Majestic, Bangalore. This museum is managed by Bangalore Association for Science Education (BASE). It was started in 1989 and attracts over 3 lakh visitors annually, mainly students. Star gazing, science club activities, science movies, sky-theatre shows, astronomical events etc are the programmes being held here.

Entry Timings - 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM
Entry Fee - Rs.75 for adults and Rs.50 for children.

Suvarna Vidhana Soudha

This Suvarna Vidhana Soudha is located at a distance of  3.9 km from Majestic. It is the legislative building of the Karnataka State and was named as Suvarna Vidhana Soudha so as to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of Karnataka formation day. 

Entry Timings - 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM only from Monday to Friday. 
                Closed on Saturday and Sunday  
Entry Fee -  Only Outside View up to 25 minutes.

Bangalore Palace 

Bangalore Palace is a 19th century palace that was constructed in an area owned by Rev.John Garrett who is the first principal of Central High School in Bangalore. It was now known as Central College.The Bangalore Palace is situated at a distance of 4.1 km from Majestic. 

Entry Timings - 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM
Entry Fee - Rs.230 for Indian Visitors and Rs.460 for Foreign visitors

Lalbagh Botanical Gardens

The Lalbagh Botanical Gardens is located at a distance of 4.5 km Majestic. It is spread over 240 acres and has more than thousand varieties of flowering plants and huge trees that are 100 + years old.

Entry Timings - 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM
Entry Fee - Free

St.Mary’s Basilica, Bangalore 

This St. Mary’s Basilica is at a distance of 4.9 km from Majestic. It is famous for its carved wooden altarpiece and has been built in the Gothic style with arches, narrative arts. The columns and tall spires of the basilica can be seen from far away.

Entry Timings - 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

Visvesvaraya Industrial & Technological Museum  

The Visvesvaraya Industrial & Technological Museum is situated at a distance of  5.0 km from Majestic. This museum was launched by then Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru on July 14, 1962 and this 43000 sq ft building was constructed in Cubbon Park.

Entry Timings - 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM
Entry Fee - Rs.85 per person; Free for children below 5 years,army,navy,airforce

Cubbon Park  

Cubbon Park is located at a distance of  5.7 km from Majestic. It was started in 1870 on 100 acres. Later, it was expanded to 300 acres with different species of plants and flowers in the park.

Entry Fee - Free

ISKCON Temple 

ISKCON Temple is located at a distance of 6.7 km from Majestic. Sri Radha Krishna Chandra Temple is one of the largest Krishna temples in the world which 
is located in Bangalore. This Bangalore ISKCON Temple was inaugurated by Shankar Dayal Sharma, the ninth president of India with gold plated dhwaja Stambha, 56 ft high and a gold plated Kalash Shikhara of 28 ft high.

Entry Timings - 4:30 AM to 12:30 PM and 4:30 PM to 8:30 PM

HAL Heritage Centre and Aerospace Museum 

It is at a distance of 14.8 km from Majestic. This museum has displays of  various aircraft engine models, helicopters, flight simulators and a mock Air Traffic Control Tower and Indian aviation history.

Entry Timings - 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Entry Fee - Rs.50 for adults and Rs.30 for students and children up to 18 years.
