The name Srikalahasti means Sri means ‘Spider’, Kala means ‘Snake’ and Hasti means ‘ Elephant’. Thiruthani is a popular temple location of Sri Subramanyeswara swamy in Tamil Nadu state which is in the form of Murugan and is one among the six abodes of Murugan. Kanipakam is in Chittoor district and is known for a temple of Lord Ganesha in the name of Sri Varasiddhi Vinayaka Swamy temple.

Srikalahasti - Lord Shiva is here worshipped as Srikalahasteeswara in the form of Vayu Lingam(one of the Panchabhuta Lingas)
Kanipakam - Sri Varasiddhi Vinayaka Swamy temple was built by the Chola King Khuttunga Chola I in the early 11 th Century. Brahmosthavam will be celebrated every year after 21 days of Vinayaka Chavithi festival here.
Thiruthani - Thanikai, the king of snakes healed the body wounds of Vasuki as he worshipped Thanikai. Agastya Maharshi got blessed with the divine gift of the Tamil language from Murugan when he worshipped at Tanikai.
