Haridwar - Barkot - Yamunotri - Uttarkashi - Gangotri - Guptkashi - Kedarnath - Joshimath - Badrinath - Haridwar.

Plan For Char Dham Yatra By Car

  • Day 1 : Reach Haridwar/Rishikesh and start the car journey to Barkot for night stay
  • Day 2  : Drive by car from Barkot to Janki Chatti, halt the car here and start the trek to Yamunotri (5-6 KM) After darshan, back to Janki Chatti and return to Barkot by car
  • Day 3 : Drive from Barkot to Uttarkashi by car and stay overnight
  • Day 4: Proceed to Gangotri by car for darshan and return to Uttarkashi.(No trek required here)
  • Day 5 : Drive from Utarkashi to Guptkashi for night stay
  • Day 6 : Drive to Sonprayag, halt the car there, take a local shuttle to Gaurikund and trek to Kedarnath for darshan and stay in for the night
  • Day 7 : After darshan, come down from Kedarnath to Gaurikund, take the shuttle and back to Sonprayag and continue the return journey to Guptkashi by car
  • Day 8 : Drive to Badrinath via Joshimath and stay in Badrinath for darshan and night stay (no trek required here)
  • Day 9 : Visit nearby places by car  and drive to Rudraprayag for night stay
  • Day 10 : Start the return journey to Haridwar completing the Char Dham Yatra

After completing visits to all four shrines, drive back to your home location from Haridwar. The total distance for this Char Dham Yatra by car is around 1400 KM depending on the route and halts. It is best to carry warm clothes, raincoat, medicines, torch, power bank, valid ID proof and most importantly carry the registration documents with you.
