The present structure was built in the 9th century during the Chola dynasty and the temple is managed by the Endowments Department of TamilNadu.

3. Sri Ulagalanda Perumal Swamy temple

Ulagalandha Perumal temple in Kanchipuram is a famous Vaishnava temple in India. It was built in the Dravidian architectural style and is one of the 108 Divya Desams and lord Vishnu here is worshipped as Ulagalandha Perumal along with consort goddess Lakshmi as Amritavalli. It has 4 divya desams called Thirukarakam, Thirukkaravanam, Thirukkarakam and Thiruneerakam.

4. Sri Kachabeswarar Temple

Kachabeswarar temple, Thirukachur is a hindu temple in a village called Thirukachur which is dedicated to lord Shiva. Lord Shiva is worshipped here as Kachabeswarar along with consort goddess Parvati as Antanatchi and Kanniyumaiyal. It is known as a twon temple along with Marundeeswarar temple. As per temple story, lord Vishnu worshipped Shiva here in the form of a tortoise, giving the temple its name. This temple was built by the Cholas and later expanded by Nayaks.

5. Sri Vaikunta Perumal Temple

Sri Vaikunta Perumal temple popularly known as Parameshwara Vinnagaram is a shrine dedicated to lord Vishnu. This temple has three floors out of which the ground floor houses the idol of lord Vaikunta Perumal in a seating posture. The first floor has lord Ranganatha in a reclining position, while the second floor shows the deity idol in standing posture. It is also popular for the beautiful sculptures and rich architecture.

6. Kumara Kottam Subramanian Temple

The Kumara Kottam temple is a hindu temple dedicated to lord Murugan which is situated in Kanchipuram. It is also known as the Subramaniya Swamy temple and is an ancient temple. It was rebuilt in 1915 CE as the present temple and is one of the important temples of Kancheepuram. According to temple history lord Murugan imprisoned Brahma here and later worshiped lord Shiva as Devasenapathiswarar.

7. Ekambaranathar Temple

Ekambareshwara temple or Ekambaranathar temple is one of the Panchabhuta Kshetras representing earth. It is located in Kanchi and has 59 metres high gopuram which is one of the largest gopuram in India. The word Amra means Mango and Amber means Cloth which means Ekambareshwara is lord born from a single mango tree. At the entrance of the temple, the temple story can be seen in paintings. This temple is dedicated to lord Shiva and includes 1008 Shivalingas installed in the temple.

8. Arulmigu Pandavatutar Perumal temple

Pandavatutar Perumal temple or Thirupadagam is an ancient Vishnu temple dedicated to lord Krishna as the messenger of the Pandavas. It is one of the 108 Divya Desams which was built by the Pallavas and later developed by Cholas & Vijayanagara rulers. It houses a unique 25 ft tall idol of lord Krishna in a seated posture holding a whip(general stick used for striking) and walking stick representing lord Krishna’s role in Mahabharatha.

9. Kailasanathar Temple

It contains an entrance hall, assembly hall and sanctuary(garbha griha) housing the idols of forms of lord Shiva within 58 small shrines.

This temple has around 350 inscriptions from various dynasties such as Chola, Pandya, Kandavarayas, Cheras, Kakatiya, Sambuvaraya, Hoysala and Vijayanagara.

11. Tiruparuthikundram Sri Digambar Jain Temple

Trilokyanatha temple or Thirupparuthikundram Jain temple is an 8th century temple in Kanchi which was built during the Pallavas ruling period. It is dedicated to the Jain Tirthankaras and is built in Dravidian architectural style with a three stepped gopuram, circular sanctums(garbha griha) along with wall paints representing Jain and Krishna legends. The central shrine(garba griha) houses Mahavira and side shrines house Lokanathar and Neminatha.
