Arulmigu Koodal Azhagar Temple is a famous Divya Desam in Madurai, dedicated to lord Vishnu. In Tamil Koodal means Madurai and Azhagar means ‘beautiful’. This ancient temple of Madurai is close to Meenakshi Amman temple and is considered to be one of the important 108 abodes of Lord Vishnu. The main shrine of the temple has the idol of main deity Koodal Azhagar along with consort goddess Madhuravalli.
