Bandipur National Park is a national park in the Indian state of Karnataka. It is the second largest tiger reserve located in the Chamarajanagar district of Karnataka. This park was spread across an area of 874 square kilometres and is home to many endangered wildlife species such as elephants, wild buffaloes, tigers, black bears, wild dogs, four-horned deer, jackals and more. Also, it includes birds like Indian vultures, red-headed vultures, peafowl, flowerpeckers, kingfishers and more.

Mudumalai National Park is a national park which was spread within around 321 square kilometres located at a height of around 2,790 to 4,100 ft. It includes 498 plant species out of which 154 trees, 77 shrubs, 214 herbs and 53 vine species. Animal species include Indian leopards, Bengal tigers, Jungle Cat, leopard cat and other species. Birds like Indian peafowl, black eagle, Malabar grey hornbill, white napped woodpecker, Indian cuckoo, Nilgiri wood pigeon and more can be seen here.

Needle Rock Viewpoint is a popular attraction to visit on the way from Ooty on NH 181. It requires a trek of about 1 KM to reach the view point which gives a 360 degree view. Kokkal Hill, Frog Hill, Rockwood hills, Pine plantations, tea estates and the Mudumalai Forest can be seen from this view point. Many Tamil films were shot here.

The Pykara Lake is one of the popular tourist attractions near Ooty which is formed by the Pykara river and is surrounded by lush green forests and scenic landscapes. Doddabetta Peak is the highest peak in the Nilgiri district situated at a height of around 8,652 ft above sea level. Moyar Waterfalls View Point is a scenic attraction in the Mudumalai region located in the middle of the Mudumalai wildlife region. Kalhatty Falls also called as Bird Watcher’s Falls is a tourist spot near Ooty which can be visited on the Ooty to Mysore. These falls were at an elevation of about 5,200 ft in the Sigur Plateau. This place is rich in bird life and wild animals such as deer, wild buffalo & sambhar come to drink water.
