1. Buddhavanam Buddhist Heritage Park

Buddhavanam Buddhist Heritage Park is a peaceful spiritual and cultural park near Nagarjuna Sagar that depicts the life, teachings and spread of Buddhism through monasteries, stupas, sculptures and themed galleries set in calm surroundings. This park was spread within 274 acres which includes Buddha Charitavanam, Jatakavanam, Dhyanavanam, Stupavanam, Mahasthupam, Buddhism Teaching & Education Centre, Hospitality & Wellness Centre. A Buddhist stupa with a height of 100 feet and a diameter of 200 feet and thousands of sculptures have been built around it.

2. Stupa Vanam

Stupa Vanam is a peaceful Buddhist Heritage site within the Buddhavanam Buddhist Heritage Park. It includes the replicas of various famous stupas from India and Asia which provide a peaceful atmosphere for meditation and understanding Buddhist history and culture. Small stupa replicas of places like Sanchi, Amaravati and Anuradhapura have been installed here. It preserves the Buddhist heritage and introduces Buddhist culture to the public.

3. Jataka Vanam

The Jataka Vanam or Jataka Park in Buddhavanam Buddhist Heritage park is a key attraction representing tales of Buddha’s past lives as a Bodhisattva. It features detailed carvings and sculptures that tell stories like the Vessantara Jataka, allowing visitors to take a peaceful walk through 547 panels that display Buddha’s perfections before his spiritual awakening, making it a highlight of the destination.

4. Nagarjuna Sagar Old Bridge

Nagarjuna Sagar Old Bridge is a historical bridge over the Krishna river parallel to the Nagarjuna Sagar Dam. It is an important landmark for tourists and photographers offering charming views of the dam. This is the perfect place to see the dam’s architecture, gates and vast water storage. Visitors can enjoy the wonderful views of the dam and the beauty around it.

5. Nagarjuna Sagar Dam

Nagarjuna Sagar Dam is a dam constructed using stone and concrete across the Krishna River at Nagarjuna Sagar which creates the border between Nalgonda district of Telangana and Palnadu district of Andhra Pradesh. This dam provides irrigation water to Nalgonda, Suryapet, Khammam, Bhadradri districts of Telangana and Krishna, Guntur, Palnadu, Prakasam, West Godavari districts of Andhra Pradesh. It is also a source of electricity generation. Visitors can also spend time boating here.

6. Ethipothala Waterfalls 

Ethipothala Falls is a 70 feet high river waterfall, situated in Palnadu district. It is located on the Chandravanka river which is a tributary of Krishna river. The waterfall is a combination of three streams namely Chandravanka Vagu, Nakkala Vagu and Tummala Vagu. This river from the waterfalls joins the Krishna river after the dam. Ettipothala is derived from the words “Eththi” and “Potha” which means to lift and pour.

7. Nagarjuna Konda Archaeological Museum

The Archaeological Museum, Nagarjunakonda is a beautiful & well maintained museum that displays ancient artefacts found in the Nagarjunakonda region, which was once an important Buddhist centre. The museum includes sculptures, inscriptions(words, symbols or messages written on metal or other hard surfaces), coins, stone carvings(shapes formed by cutting stone), and remains of stupas that represent the rich history, art and culture of the area. Visitors can get the knowledge of Buddhist heritage and early civilization of this historic site.
