Tirupati and Tirumala are among the most revered pilgrimage destinations in India, attracting millions of devotees each year. Located in Andhra Pradesh, Tirupati serves as the gateway to Tirumala, home to the famous Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple, dedicated to Lord Balaji (Vishnu).

Tirupati

Tirupati is a bustling city known for its many sacred sites and temples. Key attractions include Sri Padmavathi Ammavari Temple, dedicated to Goddess Padmavathi (consort of Lord Venkateswara), and Kapila Theertham, a sacred waterfall and temple dedicated to Lord Shiva.

Tirumala

Tirumala is a hill town where the Tirumala Venkateswara Temple is located. This temple is one of the richest and most visited pilgrimage sites in the world. Devotees believe that offering prayers here brings prosperity and divine blessings. The temple follows strict rituals, including the famous hair offering by devotees as a mark of devotion.

Apart from the main temple, other sacred sites in Tirumala include Akasa Ganga, Papavinasam Theertham, and Srivari Padalu (the footprints of Lord Venkateswara). The laddu prasadam from Tirumala is world-famous and is considered highly sacred.
