Bandipur is a well known wildlife sanctuary located in the foothills of the Western Ghats. It is also a national park spread across an area of more than 870 sq.km. It is a part of Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve along with Mudumalai in Tamil Nadu, Wayanad in Kerala and Nagarhole in Karnataka.
