The Padmapuram Gardens is a popular tourist attraction in Araku Valley. It is a well known botanical garden established in 1942 during World War II. It was initially developed to supply fresh vegetables to soldiers stationed in the region.
Later, it was transformed into a horticultural nursery & training center making a major tourist attraction that displays the region's rich biodiversity and natural beauty.
The garden keeps up a wide range of plant species, including rare and exotic plants. There is a exclusive collection of roses which adds attraction & charm to the garden.
There are unique accommodations known as "hanging cottages" providing visitors with an elevated view of the garden. A toy train takes visitors on a tour around the garden. There are also stone sculptures scattered throughout the garden.
Araku Valley bus stand is located at a distance of around 2.6 KM from the gardens. You can take a local bus or auto from the bus stand.
