The Queen's bath is a popular historic site that was built during the ruling period of Vijayanagara Empire. This structure offers the region's royal lifestyle, architectural brilliance and cultural practices. The Queen's Bath represents Islamic architecture mixed with the traditional Hindu Vijayanagara style. It has a rectangular pool at the center, surrounded with high arched corridors which were once decorated with beautiful carvings.
The Queen's Bath was constructed in 16th century, during the Vijayanagara Empire under the ruling of Krishnadevaraya. It was designed as a royal bathing area specially for the royal women including the queen, princesses and other women of royal court.The building's walls and the open chamber are finely decorated reflecting the wealth and taste of the royal court. The roof had a series of small windows allowed cool breezes to pass through, added the comfort and luxury of the space.
