About Three Seas Mingle Point

Triveni Sangam in Kanyakumari is a sacred confluence (joining) of three oceans Bay of Bengal, the Arabian Sea and the Indian Ocean. It is one of the pilgrimage site where these great oceans meet and is frequently visited place by devotees. There is a small shrine exactly at the oceans meeting point. Devotees believe that taking holy bath at this mingle point is significant and cleanses the sins. 

Significance:

Triveni Sangam has great religious significance in Hindu tradition. This confluence is consodered a auspicious place and performing rituals & holy baths can purify soul. It is believed that Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva bless devotees at this site.

King Bhagirath brought the Ganga river down to the earth from heaven to purify the souls of his ancestors. The triveni sangam is linked to this and it remains a significant place for ritual baths & prayers. At the point of confluence, there is a small shrine called Sangam temple. 

The meeting of three seas also symbolizes the unity of the different cultures & traditions of India, making it an ideal site of spiritual significance.

Kanyakumari KPN bus stop is just 600mm away and the bus stand is located at a distance of around 1.2 KM from this mingle point.
