Dum Dum rock view point is the view point to the Thalaiyar Falls , also known as Rat Tail Falls is a popular waterfall on the Manjalar river. It is the highest waterfall in Tamil Nadu and is the eigth highest waterfall in India with a height of around 974 ft. This Rat Tail falls is clearly visible from the Dum Dum Rock view point on the Batalugundu-Kodaikanal Ghat road. This falls are not accessible as there is no road to it. It is possible to hike to the bottom of the falls in the dry season, beginning at the Manjalar dam. It offers a refreshing break during the journey up to the hill station.
It provides a breathtaking view of the surrounding hils, valleys, and plains below. It is located along the ghat road and visitors can enjoy the cool breeze, and soak in the natural beauty before continuing their journey to Kodaikanal.It is less crowded & more peaceful and a perfect photography spot with unique rock formation, misty backdrops, and valley views make it a great spot for photography, especially during early morning or sunset hours.
