Kodaikanal Golf ground is a Golf club and is a private membership club. The Golf course comes with 18 holes and rated at 71 strokes for par(expected number of strokes). It is on Golf Links road near the Green Valley View point. It is notable for its age and the wildlife seen on the course.
This club has various facilities available for the recreation, entertainment and comfort for the players. These facilities include 18 hole golf course, practice net for driving practice. Inside the clubhouse, there is a 12 seater conference room, a card games room, a billiards room, a members lounge and a dining hall. There is also accommodation including 2 super deluxe rooms, 2 deluxe rooms and 2 standard rooms.
The club was developed on 17 June 1895 by 12 British golfers(golf players). They also prepared the architecture of this course. These members were once British and American civil servants and missionaries. Originally there were only holes and the surfaces were browns. In the early fifties the course extended to 18 holes. In 1986 the putting surfaces were changed to green surfaces. The Centenary Building, name of the clubhouse was renovated in 1995.
Kodaikanal bus stand is located at a distance of around 5.2 KM from the course. Take a local taxi to reach the golf course and you can also visit the Green Valley view point at a time.
