About Someshwar Beach.

Someshwar Beach is located in Mangalore which got its name derived from the name of lord Somanatha, whose temple is on the ocean's edge. This beach is known for large rocks on the beach called Rudra Shile or Rudra Paadhe. Rudra is Lord Shiva and "Shile" or "Paadhe" means rock in Tulu language.

Ottinene Hill is near Someshwar beach and on the hill there is vegetation & medicinal plants that grow naturally. This is a scenic beach known for its golden sands, rock formations, and views of the Arabina sea. There are many rocks near the beach making the best spot for sitting & watching the sunset.

Significance:

The name of the beach is derived from the ancient Someshwara temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, situated right on its shores. This temple is believed to be over 1000 years old and holds great religious value. The presence of the temple adds a spiritual vibe to the beach. 

Devotees often visit the temple and spend time at the beach. It gives a special experience during the early morning hours.  You can get peace, blessings and a spiritual connection with the sea.

How To Reach:

The nearest bus stop to this beach is Ullal bus stand situated at a distance of 4.5 KM. From there, you can take a local bus 44 A to reach Someshwar or you can take a local taxi to the beach. Mangalore bus stand is at a distance of around 7.9 KM and railway station is at a distance of 14.8 KM from this beach.
