Gandha Madhana Parvath or Mt.Gandhamadana is the tallest mountain on Pamban Island near Rameswaram. It lies between mainland India and Sri Lanka. It is believed that lord Hanuman resides here. It is believed to be the small hill from where Lord Hanuman began his journey to Ravana's Lanka. Gandhamadan Parvat is also known as Rama Feet.
Gandhamadhan Parvat, in Rameswaram holds great spiritual importance in Ramayana. It is believed that Lord Hanuman hopped across the ocean to reach Lanka in search of Sita. There is also a small shrine called Rama Padam at the top of the hill, where a stone is believed to bear the print of Lord Rama's feet. Rameswaram bus stand is located at a distance of around 3.6 KM from this mountain and railway station is around 2.8 KM away from the mountain. You can take a local taxi or an auto rickshaw to reach the temple.
