About Ramarpadam Temple

Ramarpadam temple also known as Ramar Patham is a significant shrine located on the top of the Gandhamadana Parvatam. It is the highest natural point in Rameswaram. The temple holds great spiritual value as it is believed to be the footprint of Lord Rama in a chakra like stone.

This hill shrine attracts devotees and travelers as they can worship the feet and can enjoy the peaceful ambiance along with beautiful views. 

Significance:

According to puranas, it is believed that Lord Rama stood on the top of the hill and surveyed the sea to plan his journey to Lanka in the process of rescuing Sita. It is said that lord Hanuman flew across the ocean from here to reach Ravana's kingdom.

The footprint of Rama is considered a divine symbol of Lord Rama's presence and blessings. Pilgrims visit this site to offer prayers and to connect with the moments of Ramayana in reality.

How To Reach:

 Rameswaram bus stand is located at a distance of 3.6 KM and railway station is located at a distance of around 2.8 KM from this shrine. So, you can take an auto rickshaw or a local taxi to reach the shrine easily.
