Sita Theertham

Sita teertham is a popular holy water teertham in Rameswaram. It is one of the prominent teerthams all over Rameswaram which is connected to the deities of Ramayana. This teertham was set up by Goddess Sita, the consort of Lord Rama and holds spiritual improtance for devotees seeking blessings, purification and peace.

Significance:

Seetha teertham is believed to be the spot where Sita devi performed prayers and purification during her time in Rameswaram. Devotees believe that bathing or sprinkling the water of this teertham helps in removal of sins and negative energy.

After goddess Sita's Agni Pariksha, she is said to have bathed here to regain her inner calm and spiritual grace. The teertham is also a symbolic representation of female devotion and purity.

How To Reach:

Rameswaram bus stand and railway station are located at a distance of  1.1 KM to this teertham. You can reach the teertham by walk or by an auto rickshaw.
