About Jatayu Earth Centre

Jatayu Earth's Center or Jatayu Nature Park is a national park and tourism centre in Kollam district of Kerala. It is situated at a height of 1200 ft above the sea level. Jatayu holds the record for being the largest bird sculpture in the world.

The sculpture is of 200 ft long, 150 ft wide, 70 ft height and occupies 15000 sq. ft of area. It was designed by Rajiv Anchal. This rock-theme nature park was a tourim initiative in Kerala. The statue is a representation of a legend Ramayana and symbolizes the protection of women, and their honour and safety. 

Significance

 It features the world's largest bird sculpture, displaying Jatayu, who tried to save Sita from Ravana. The statue symbolizes the protection and honor of women. The park also includes a museum, 3D theater, cultural center, adventure activities and an upcoming Ayurvedic resort. It opened to visitors in 2018.

Apart from the iconic statue, the park includes a museum, a 3D theater showing the battle scene with rock climbing and other activities. The adventure park was opened on 5 December 2017, and the entire site was opened to the public in August 2018. The park is a mix of nature and entertainment.

Chadayamangalam bus stand is the nearest stop at a distance of around 1.9 KM from the park. You can take a local bus or auto from the bus stand.
