The Sri Venugopala Swamy temple is a most worshipped and historic temple located in Karvetinagaram near Tirupati in the Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh. It is dedicated to lord Krishna in the form of Venugopala, the divine flute player and cowherd (cow caretaker) boy from the Bhagavata Purana.
This temple is one of the important Vaishnavite shrines in the region and is maintained under the administration of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams(TTD). This is a graceful form of lord Krishna, holding a flute and standing in the tribhanga posture. The temple has the idol of lord Krishna along with consort goddesses Rukmini and Satyabhama.

The temple grandly celebrates Krishna Janmashtami and other Vaishnavite festivals with great devotion. Also, every year Brahmotsavams and special poojas are performed in traditional way.
It was built in South Indian Dravidian architecture with a beautifully sculpted gopuram, pillared halls and spacious mandapams. The inner shrine and outer mandapams are decorated with beautiful ancient carvings that reflect devotional themes and stories of Krishna.
Tirumala bus stand is located at a distance of around 4.4 KM from the temple. You can take a local taxi or the government sightseeing buses in Tirumala to reach the temple from bus stand.
