The Matsya Darshini Aquarium is a prominent marine attraction located in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. It was established in 1994 by the Municipal Corporation of Visakhapatnam. It is located along the beach road and offers an realisitc experience into the world of aquatic life.
The aquarium is designed to replicate natural habitats, providing an educational & engaging environment for all ages. It is an educational hub, promoting awareness about marine biodiversity and conservation.
It is housed in a former British bungalow and includes over 20 tanks showcasing a wide variety of collection of marine and freswater species. The acquatic creatures here are tropical fish like clownfish, angelfish, exotic species such as lionfish and seahorses along with starfish and sea urchins.
There are exhibitions with interactions and informative displays educate visitors on the importance of preserving aquatic ecosystems and the role of marine life in maintaining the ecological balance. It encourages visitors to make efforts to protect and preserve marine environments.
