The Kolanupaka Jain temple is a famous Jain temple near Yadagirigutta situated on the Warangal-Hyderabad highway. It is a 2000 years old temple with an entrance gate that seems like a fortress gate. There are two gates on the right & left to exit. The temple was constructed using Dholpur stone from Rajasthan and the floor inside is Marble.
The temple houses the idols of Jain gods like Adinath, Mahavira and Neminath. There are idols made of gold, marble, and black stone. The temple premises and surroundings are peaceful and includes a large idol of the four Tirthankaras in it. For those four Tirthankaras, special poojas will be held during Jain festivals.
Significance:
A 1.5 meter tall statue of Mahavira can be seen to the right of the main shrine inside the inner shrine(garbha griha). This statue is in a peaceful yoga posture in Siddhasana with a Kumbhaka, Ardha Padmasana.
Another statue in this temple is statue of lord Rishabha which is the central shrine made up of black colored stones. It has a width of 38.5 inches and a height of 34.56 inches. It is in half padmasana siddhasana posture.
How To Reach:
Aler bus stand is the nearest stop from the temple at a distance of around 7.6 KM. There are buses running frequently to Kolanupaka. You can take a taxi or a bus to reach the temple from bus stand.
