Arunachalam shrine of lord Shiva is located in Tiruvannamalai on the Arunachalam hills. It is one of the jyotirlinga temples of lord Shiva. The deity in Kanipakam is a swayambhu idol of lord Vinayaka that came out from a stone in a well. The Vellore Golden temple of Sri Lakshmi Narayani devi has 1.5 metric tonnes of pure gold sheets in its inner sanctum.
