Kanipakam - There were three brothers, one is blind, one is deaf, one is dumb. One of them went to dig a well for water and in the process he bet a stone and blood flowed from the stone and the water became bloody. Later some other people continued to beat then the swayambhu idol of Lord Vinayaka emerged from the water.

Thiruthani - Sri Subramanyeswara swamy temple is here in the name of Murugan and is one of the six abodes of Murugan.
