The Subramanya Swamy temple is a hindu temple dedicated to lord Subramanya or lord Murugan located at Tiruthani in Tiruvallur district of TamilNadu. It is one of the six popular shrines of Lord Subramanya.
This temple is located on a hill and is one of the oldest temples of South India. Skanda Shasti festival is celebrated grandly in this temple and attracts a huge number of devotees.
The Subramanya Swamy temple has a traditional Dravidian architectural style, with several shrines dedicated to various deities. The main deities are Murugan, his consort goddesses Valli & Devasena. It also contains several other temples dedicated to lord Shiva, Vinayaka and other gods & goddesses.
One of the unique features of this temple is the 365 steps leading to the hill of Murugan. Devotees climb these steps with devotion. These steps represent 365 days of a year. It is not only a place of religious importance but also an architectural beauty in TamilNadu.
