Abbey Falls is a waterfall in Coorg which is also called as Abbi Falls or Abbe Falls. It is on the initial flow of the river Kaveri, located between private coffee plantations and spice estates along with trees wrapped with pepper vines. There is a hanging bridge opposite the falls. This waterfalls have heavy flow during the monsoon season.
The falls was earlier called Jessi Falls, named after a British officer's wife. Earlier, this place was a thick jungle and later this waterfall was discovered by Mr. Neravanda B. Nanaiah. He bought this place from government and changed it to a coffee & spice plantation. You can see those plantations surrounding the waterfall.
Coorg bus stand is located at a distance of around 4.8 KM from the falls road. It is 4.2 KM from Madikeri and from there you can hire a local taxi to reach the falls.
