History Pine Forest

Pine tree plantation in this Pine forest was initiated by Mr. H. D Bryant. He is the forest officer during the British ruling period. It was inititiated in early 1900s as a thought of growing timber. Later on, the forest became a popular tourist attraction admired for its peaceful atmosphere and unique beauty.It has served as a filming location for several Indian movies, and most of them are Tamil movies. It also helps in bringing cool climate and rich biodiversity.

Kodaikanal bus stand is at a distance of 8.5 KM from Pine forest. You can reach here via a local taxi. Yoi can also visit Pillar Rocks which is at nearest distance from this forest.
