Munnar is a beautiful hill station in Kerala known for its wide tea plantations or tea gardens that cover the rolling hills. Some of these plantations are at high altitudes, like Kolukkumalai, which is at a height of 7900 ft above sea level. The cool weather of the Western Ghats is perfect for growing tea.
Many of these estates, such as Kannan Devan Hills Plantation and Lockhart Tea Estate, have a long history from the British times in the late 1800s. Tourists can walk through the tea gardens and enjoy the calm & fresh air. Many estates also have factory tours where you can see how tea is made from picking the leaves to packing the final product.

Munnar bus stand is located at a distance of around 10.4 KM from the tea estate. You can take a local taxi or bus from the bus stand to reach the estates.
