Bull Temple in Mysore is popularly known as Nandi temple. This giant Nandi statue is located at the top of the Chamundi Hills. It is the oldest icons in Mysore which is more than 350 years old. Nandi is considered as vahanam of lord Shiva and in every Lord Shiva, you can see the Nandi facing lord.
This Nandi is about 16 feet in height and 24 feet long and is the third largest statue in India. Dodda Devaraja Wodeyar took incharge of creating this statue.It was actually a massive rock and the Nandi was carved out of this rock. Behind the Nandi statue there is a small cave temple dedicated to lord Siva. These rocks are painted with white and ochre stripes.The Nandi is in sitting position with its left leg folded and looks like it's about to stand.

Mysore bus stand is located at a distance of around 12.9 KM from this temple. Vivekanand Nagar bus stop is at nearest distance of 7 KM from the temple. There is no bus service to Nandi temple. Instead you can take to the top of Chamundi hills with buses 201, 100, 201N.
Mysore railway station is located at a distance of around 12 KM from this temple. After reaching the station, take a cab or bus as shown above to reach Chamundi Hills. From there, you have to go on by walk to reach Nandi temple.
