Mysore Zoological park Covers a total area of 150 acres which was first started in 10 acres of land by the Mysore maharaja Sri Chamarajendra Wodeyar. He used to bring many birds and animals found interesting during his visit to any country. Its ambition is to adopt and rear the animals in India and all over the world.
Elephants, Lions, Sea lions, tigers, White Tigers, Jaguar, Chitas, Elephant Antelopes, White Deer, Bears, Porcupines, Giraffe, crocodiles, Rhinoceros, Chimpanzee, Zebras, Horses, Monkeys, Primates, turtles, and more animals. Different types of snakes are Cobras, King Cobra, Python, All types of fish are found in the Aquarium.
White and Blue Peacocks, HornBill, Emu and Ostrich, Pelican, Painted Stork, Flamingos, Parrots, Eagles, Vultures, hens, Love Birds, and more Indian birds.
Mysore Zoo collect entry fee is Weekdays and Weekends or Government Holidays.
The distance from Mysore city bus station to Mysore Zoo is only 3km and is 2km from Mysore Palace.
Every day several buses are found to go to Mysore zoo from Mysore. Cabs, autos, and buses are available in the Mysore city to reach the Mysore Zoo.
