Tipu Sultan's Summer Palace, in Srirangapatna, near Mysore is also known as Daria Daulat Bagh. It is mostly made of teakwood. This summer palace is set in the middle of the beaurtiful gardens called Daria Daulat Bagh. Tipu Sultan popularly known as the "Tiger of Mysore", built this palace in 1784 and ruled Mysore from here.
The palace is built in the Indo-Saracenic style and is mostly made of teakwood. The palace has a rectangular plan and is built on raised platform. It also has open corridors along the four sides of the platform with wooden pillars at the edges of the platform.
The four staircases remain out of sight built in the four partiion walls. They divide the audience hall into four rooms with a central hall connecting eastern & western corridors.
On the top floor of the Daria Daulat Palace is Tipu Sultan museum with collection of Tippu memorabilia, European paintings, persian manuscripts.
