Ooty Lake-Boat House

Ooty Lake is an artificial lake near Ooty within an area of 64 acres. The boathouse on the lake is a popular tourist attraction. The boat house next to the lake was opened by TamilNadu Tourism Development Corporation. Boating is the main attraction here as you can see the most beautiful scenary while boating. 

Significance

There are different boating facilities such as paddle boats which means you can pedal the wheel of boat like a cycle. Row boats with which you will push the water back with two sticks called rows. Motor boats or a  powerboat which is operated by an engine. This boathouse also has a garden, a mini-train, and an amusement park. There are also pony rides in front of the house and you can also enjoy delicious food in the canteen organized by TTDC. 

It also includes fun activities like mini train for kids, a 7D cinema, horror & mirror house, dashing car, break dance and Colombus ride. Nearby the Ooty Lake there are also horse rides and cycling.

How To Reach

Ooty Lake is located at a distance of 1.3 KM from Ooty. Ooty bus stand is located at a distance of 1.9 KM from this lake. So, you can take a local taxi to reach the Ooty Lake after reaching the Ooty bus stand.Ooty railway station is 2.3 KM away from the lake and you can take a local taxi from the station to reach Ooty Lake.
