Warangal fort is located in the city of Warangal which is a capital city of Kakatiya dynasty. The fort was included in the tentative lost of UNESCO World Heritage Site. The fort has been in existence since the 12th century.
It has four grand entrances known as Kakatiya Kala thoranam. The Orugallu fort originally formed the entrances to a now ruined Shiva temple. The Kakatiyan arch has the emblem of Telangana.
Significance:
Warangal Fort is within three concentric circular walls with strong enclosures. The first structure, built during the ruling period of Rudramadevi with a wall height of 29 feet. There are also 18 stone steps laid over a slope.
The central part of the fort has been identified as the archaeological zone where the ruins (damaged leftovers) of a Shiva temple can be seen. There are entrance gates on four sides and each gate has two pillars with angled brackets. The height of each gate is 33 ft or 10 metres.

The nearest bus stand to the fort is Warangal bus stand which is at a distance of around 3.2 KM. You can take a local auto or taxi to reach the fort from bus stand.
