Ketti Valley viewpoint is a beautiful & popular scenic spot which is situated between Ooty & Coonoor in Nilgiri Hills. It is often referred to as the "Switzerland of South India". It provides best wide views of one of the largest inhabited valleys in the world. The valley covers more than 14 small villages surrounded by green hills and tea gardens.
It is not just a natural beauty but it also showcases eco friendly landscape of the Nilgiris. The Nilgiris were developed during the British ruling period. Nilgiri Mountain Railway (NMR) passes through this valley and is now a UNESCO World Heritage site. The viewpoint gives a best example of coexistence inclluding nature and rural life. Along wwith the historic importance it is the popular site for its tea cultivation in this area.
It is situated at a distance of around 12.8 KM from the Coonoor bus stand and 12.3 KM from Coonoor railway station. So, you can take a local taxi to visit the valley.
