Kovalam Beach.

The Kovalam Beach is located at the nearest distance from Trivandrum in Kerala and is one of the most famous & scenic beaches in India. The name "Kovalam" means "a grove of coconut trees" and as per its name, the beach is lined with countless coconut trees. 

It is a well known beach for its bow-shaped edge of the sea which is divided into three parts namely Lighthouse beach, Hawa beach and Samudra beach. Each beach offers a unique experience to visitors. The Lighthouse beach got its name after the iconic red & white striped lighthouse. Kovalam is a famous scenic place for its calm waters, golden sand and coconut trees.

Significance

Kovalam beach is a symbol of Kerala's natural beauty and cultural charm. It played a key role in putting Kerala on the global tourism map from the 1970s onwards when it became popular with international travellers. Till today, it attracts both domestic & international tourists for its peaceful atmosphere, water sports sunbathing, and beachside Ayurvedic treatments.

How To Reach

Kovalam beach is located at a distance of around 1.2 KM from Kovalam bus stand. You can reach the Kovalam beach by taking a local auto or bus from the bus stand.
