Golkonda-Fort-Hyderabad

Golkonda Fort Hyderabad

Golconda Fort is one of the oldest and historical Forts of India, that carries the Indian culture Heritage from generations. Golconda Fort, earlier known as ‘Golla Konda’ later came into the conquer of Qutub Shahi Dynasty, later came into the ruling of grandeur Mohammad Quli Qutub Shah, who named fort as Golconda and made several additions to the fort representing the Nawabi culture.

Golconda fort was popularly known as ‘Diamond Market’ and famous for extracting precious diamonds and gems of the world including Hope diamond, Nassak diamond, Koh-i-Noor, and Darya-i-Noor.

One cannot miss trying the hand applauds sounded in the principal doors of the fort and clear patio sound is heard on the highest point of the fortress. There are many more beautiful monuments, Taramathi Gana Mandir, Baktha Ramdas Bandana and many more can be seen there which will definitely take back to the historical days of Golconda Fort.

Golconda Fort was constructed on a hilltop in west Hyderabad in 1143. Though it was constructed in the 1100s, the fort was fortified between the 14th and 17th centuries. The inner structure consists of ruins of courtyards, palaces, pavilions, etc.
Golconda is one of the most impressive fort structures in India. Most Popular Historical Places in Hyderabad. The fort has seen the rise and fall of various dynasties throughout history. This one of the coolest tourist spots every day thousands of people visit this place.
An archeological gem, the Golconda Fort was once the capital of the Qutb Shahi Dynasty- the ruling family of ancient Hyderabad. The massive fortress is now a famous spot for family picnics and enjoying the outdoors. Right outside the city, this fort makes for a great place for day trips and enjoying nature and history.

This is one of the ancient places in the city to visit. Mind-blowing architecture, Cave like structures, buildings, and walls. This is a must-visit place if you want to get the taste of the history, essence, and the legacy of Hyderabad. This shows you the engineering marvels of those old times.

The fort welcomes you with nice grass lawns on either side of the pathway. Few meters up the path, the grand doorway stands tall in front of you. The doorway is huge enough to let elephants and chariots pass through it. There is a lot of climbing on old stairs, over 500-feet up. If you are new to Hyderabad taking a guide would be better to know the history and to understand how it's designed. In the lobby, you will find a small museum that has some artifacts. The place has nice gardens, mosques, and mostly old structures that were once part of a real kingdom. It took me 2 hours to climb to the top of the fort. After getting through the hand-clap you should walk crossing some mosques and gardens then you can see your destination from below.
Then to the top of the fort.
The fort has a place where even when the sun is scorching you can feel a cool breeze near it which now serves as a canteen storage place to refrigerate goods. At the top, we can enjoy the wind blowing through and it feels so refreshed. From the top, you can have a glance at the entire city.
