Agartala is well known for its sanctuaries, castles, and rich history of the Manikya rulers and its association with Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore. Agartala is additionally noted for its bamboo crafted works, and neighborhood hand-woven shawls and materials. Its nearness to different spots of enthusiasm for Tripura (25km from Sipahijala, 55km from Udaipur, 50km from Neer Mahal, 178km from Unakoti) makes Agartala a reasonable base for investigating rest of the state.
